Literacy Volunteers of Kanawha County
The Little Free Library Project
Literacy Volunteers of Kanawha County partnered with Habitat for Humanity to sponsor the Little Free Library Project. The project is a “take a book, return a book” gathering place where neighbors share their favorite literature and stories. You can see a short video on how the project works by watching the video here.
We have libraries at the town hall in Chesepeake (seen bottom left), on West Washington Street in Charleston (seen directly left), and at First Presbyterian Church across from Covenant House Food Pantry (seen below). The libraries are always open, and available to anyone and everyone! You are also always welcome to bring books to leave, even if you don't take one.
Little Free Libraries are great for folks who might have something getting in their way of getting a book...it's just another way that we work towards promoting literacy here in Kanawha County! Thank you to everyone who helps maintain this important community resource!
