We are an all-volunteer organization. In the past 20 years, we have helped over 1,000 people. We are an affiliate of ProLiteracy and have received a Gold Rating from Guidestar!

What's Our Mission?

The Literacy Volunteers of Kanawha County is committed to promoting increased literacy for adult and youth learners in Kanawha County through the effective use of volunteers, the provision of support services for volunteers and learners, and collaboration with individuals, groups, or organizations who also desire to foster the growth of literacy.

What's Next?

LVKC is improving and expanding our programming in Kanawha County. We are working with more organizations than ever in order to recruit students and volunteers into our program. We always have a busy calendar and love to attend service provider meetings and events with the community. Our job will not be finished until every adult and child in Kanawha County can read and write.

Who Are We?

LVKC is an all-volunteer organization from our tutors to our office staff. We are people from all backgrounds who are committed to improving literacy in Kanawha County. We are always looking for new volunteers to join us from all parts of

Kanawha County and all walks of life.
